Hooked on Jerky is a free collection of browser-based calculators and reference guides for making jerky, venison, biltong and other dried meats at home. The Site is operated by the Hooked on Jerky team (“we”, “us”, “our”).

The tools and content here are for informational and educational purposes. You’re free to use the calculators for your own personal, non-commercial cooking. You agree not to:
- Scrape, copy or republish the Site’s calculators, code or content without permission

3. Food-safety disclaimer, read this one
Drying meat safely depends on your meat, equipment and hygiene, not just a number on a screen. Our calculators and guides give estimates and general guidance based on standard formulas and USDA temperature guidance. They are not a guarantee that a given batch is safe.
You are responsible for reaching the correct internal temperature (the kill-step: 160°F for beef and venison, 165°F for poultry), for weighing curing salts accurately, and for storing and handling meat properly. We are not liable for spoilage, illness, or any other outcome from making dried meat. When in doubt, follow the food-safety guidance of your local health authority, and never guess with cure #1.

Any nutrition figures or portion notes on the Site are estimates for general information only. They are not medical, nutritional or dietetic advice and are not a substitute for a qualified professional. If you are pregnant, feeding a child or pet, managing a health condition, or working to a clinical diet, speak to your doctor or a registered dietitian, and your vet for anything you feed an animal, before acting on anything you read here.
